If you have been reading about the Hells Angels enforcing their intellectual property rights recently (if you haven’t, see here) you will have been incensed (like me) about one thing at least: where is that apostrophe?
Well, the answer is provided on the HA’s website:
“Missing apostrophe in Hells Angels? Yes, we know that there is an apostrophe missing but it is you who miss it. We don’t.”
So, that clears it up – I’ll remember that line next time my own documents are criticised for missing something.
But it’s pretty unsatisfactory. How are we supposed to get our kids to use proper grammar when we have the Hells Angels setting such a poor example?
